Materials:
- one of each light bulb: Incandescent, Fluorescent, HID, LED
- a number of reliable resources (books, websites etc.) on the light bulbs listed above
- writing materials
Procedure:
1. Firstly, come up with a question that poses a problem about light bulb efficiency.
2. After that, make a hypothesis to the question, suggesting a solution.
3. Using your resources, research information on each light bulb’s types, how its made, how useful it is, and its advantages and disadvantages. Make sure to write it all down on your paper.
4. Next, using your gathered information, analyze the differences between each one.
5. Make a clearly labeled and organized chart on the differences of each light bulb (life span, lumens, wattage, efficacy).
6. Then, draw an appropriate graph type to match your chart.
7. After that, draw out the light bulbs and how each one works.
8. Using the drawing you made, make a written observation about it. Use the light bulbs that you have brought with you to help.
9. Write a conclusion on if your hypothesis is correct or not, your process, and what you could have improved on.
10. Write a conclusion on if your hypothesis is correct or not, your process, and what you could have improved on.
